Eurofish announce breakthrough in fish vaccination technology

by admin on Aug.18, 2009, under news

Press Release - 16 August 2009

Eurofish Vaccination Services Ltd today heralded an important breakthrough in fish vaccination technology with the announcement of their production of a vaccinating gun specifically designed to administer a dose of 0.05ml of vaccine.

To date the injecting of this size of dosage has involved “calibrating down” guns designed to deliver a 0.1ml or other size of dosage which has proved inaccurate and unsatisfactory for a variety of reasons.

This development is particularly significant at the moment, coming as it does at a time when many major  vaccine manufacturers are now producing vaccines which should only be administered in 0.05ml doses, for example Pharmaq and their Microject 5-3 product.

The gun includes an integrated magnetically-operated counting mechanism, to record how many fish have been vaccinated over any given period of time. This mechanism also acts as an additional calibration check by showing how many doses have been delivered by the gun out of, for example, a half-litre bag of vaccine.

The directors of Eurofish will be in attendance at Aqua-Nor to demonstrate this new piece of equipment, and will be happy to prove its precision by the injection of 0.05ml doses of vaccine into a calibrating syringe.

The gun is not for sale on the market, the use of it by teams of highly-trained, experienced Eurofish operatives is being promoted as an additional service on offer from this young, dynamic and innovative company.

For more information or for a demonstration of the gun please call Phil Fraser  +44 (0) 7912294062  or Michael Dominick + 44 (0) 7783534827  or Norway  + 47 98438804.
